Sussex: Two dead and another seriously injured after three-vehicle horror crash


Two men have died and another has been seriously injured after the crash in Sussex

Two men in their 30s have died and another driver has been seriously injured after a three vehicle crash.

Another two men have been arrested by police investigating the incident on Friday night.

The smash happened at around 10.20pm on the A27 near the Ashcombe roundabout, near Lewes in Sussex.

A black Audi S5, a silver Audi TT and a silver Ford transit van were all involved.

The occupants of the Audi S5, a man, 39, from Lewes and a man, 33, from Brighton, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where they later died as a result of the injuries sustained. Their next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the Ford transit van suffered a serious injury but is in a stable condition in hospital.

A man, 30, from Lewes has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drug driving and possession of drugs.

Meanwhile, man, 29, also from Lewes, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Both men remain in custody while the investigation is ongoing.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened – or has dashcam footage from the road at the time of the crash – to come forward.
