Girl, 9, cried to 911 operator that ‘daddy shot people’ after he ‘killed mom & sisters during birthday party
A GIRL tearfully called police on her dad after he allegedly killed her mom and sisters in a birthday party murder-suicide on Monday.
“Daddy was coming over for my birthday – and he shot people,” the girl told the 911 operator, according to the New York Post.
Cops said the girl’s dad, Joseph McCrimons, 46, shot and killed mom Rasheeda Barzey, 45, and her two daughters Chloe Spears, 16, and Solei Spears, 20, in Brooklyn, New York.
The two killed daughters were not related to McCrimons.
NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig told reporters on Tuesday: “She was just calling 911, you know, if you can imagine, it’s horrific, the 911, saying, ‘Daddy was coming over for my birthday, and he shot people.’
“She was weeping and crying [that she] ‘didn’t have presents.’ It was heartbreaking to hear that.”
McCrimons later shot himself in the head and was found dead in a walkway of a building nearby, police said.
A .38 revolver and a semi-automatic handgun were found at the location where McCrimons’ body was discovered.
McCrimons reportedly came to his daughter’s house in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn where the family gathered to celebrate her birthday.
Relatives told authorities that McCrimons and Barzey had been in a “very rocky” relationship for 20 years.
McCrimons was previously imprisoned for eight years at Sing Correctional Facility in Westchester County for killing Eugene Grant, 28, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.
He reportedly shot Grant for breaking up a fight that McCrimons – 18 at the time – was watching on Halloween night in 1993. Grant was shot in his back as he took his relatives out to trick-or-treat, the Post reported.
