A ‘totally irresponsible’ couple have been spotted walking along train tracks with a small child.

MP Robbie Moore said he was sent a photograph of the family venturing down the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire.

‘Rather worryingly, despite the obvious dangers, people are trespassing on our railway lines,’ Mr Moore said.

The Keighley MP added: ‘This is extremely dangerous, risky and totally irresponsible to encourage children to walk along a railway line.

‘Even though the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway isn’t hosting visitors at the moment due to Covid restrictions, the railway line is still being used.

‘Trespassing on the railway is illegal and dangerous – please stay safe, and do not do it.’

Locals slammed the couple as soon as Mr Moore posted the photo on Facebook.

One woman said they were ‘totally bonkers’ while another described them as ‘unbelievably stupid’.

It is not the first time families have been spotted risking their lives at the scenic railway.

Last April, several adults were seen walking with children on the tracks, prompting rail bosses to send an alert to West Yorkshire Police.
