Baby found dead at house in Leicestershire as man, 33, arrested

A man has been arrested after a baby was found dead at a house in Leicestershire.

Officers from Leicestershire Police rushed to a property in Glen Park, Avenue, Glenfield, after the East Midlands Ambulance Service reported the incident.

A probe has been launched, with the death currently being treated as ‘unexplained’.

A man, 33, has been arrested in connection with the case. He remains in custody.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said the investigation is ‘very much in its early stages’.

Detective Inspector Henry Henderson said: ‘This is an extremely sad incident involving the death of an infant at a property.

‘Our officers remain in the area carrying out full inquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident.’
